Being a filmmaker is a career that constantly surprises me – it puts me in interesting places and allows me to meet so many great people along the way. I love it!

I have been making videos and taking photos full time since 2011. What started as a hobby became a career when I decided I didn’t want to be an elementary teacher. Shortly after graduating from Central Michigan University, I was asked to produce a local TV show. I jumped at the opportunity and never looked back. Since then, I’ve produced videos for a wide variety of clients and projects, including full length documentaries, national ad campaigns, and commercial work for multinational companies.
After working for a handful of organizations as a video producer and visual creative, I decided to work for myself and pursue freelance work as my only source of income. It was an exhilarating, challenging, and rewarding experience. Two years later, I accepted a position with the MEDC and currently create videos to market the state of Michigan, including the Pure Michigan campaign.
When I’m not working, I try to paddle Michigan’s waterways and camp in the backcountry as often as I can, often with my dog. At the turn of the new year, my wife and I are expecting our first kid – a girl. She already has a camera with her name on it.
